Balance refers to the total amount of money in your trading account, excluding any profits or losses from open positions. It reflects the confirmed funds in your account after all closed trades and completed transactions.

Balance shows your account value based only on completed actions, not open trades.

What Does Balance Represent?

Your balance updates only when one of the following occurs:

  • A trade is closed

  • A deposit or withdrawal is made

  • A bonus, fee, or commission is applied

Balance does not include any floating (unrealized) profit or loss from open positions.

Balance Example

Let’s say your account starts with a balance of $1,000.

  • You open a trade that shows a floating profit of $150
→ Your balance remains $1,000 while the trade is open

  • Once you close the trade and lock in the profit
→ Your balance updates to $1,150

Why Is Balance Important?

Balance is a key reference point for:

  • Calculating realised profits and losses

  • Reviewing your trading performance history

  • Determining available funds for withdrawals

  • Planning future trades based on confirmed capital

It provides a clear snapshot of your account value after completed actions, without the influence of open positions.
