Whether you're new to the platform or a seasoned trader, you may occasionally run into technical or setup-related issues while using MT4 or MT5. This guide covers the most frequently asked questions and common problems traders experience with their trading accounts.

Why can't I see all instruments in Market Watch?

By default, your Market Watch window only displays a limited list of instruments. To view all available symbols:

  1. Right-click anywhere in the Market Watch panel.

  2. Select “Show All”.

You should now be able to see the full list of tradable pairs and instruments offered on your account.

What’s the Minimum and Maximum Trade Size?

  • Minimum trade size: 0.01 lots (micro lot)

  • Maximum trade size: Varies depending on the instrument and current trading conditions. Refer to the contract specifications within your platform or contact our support team for instrument-specific limits.

We recommend checking your platform’s contract specifications or contacting our support team if you’re unsure about a particular instrument.

Why Can’t I Place a Trade?

If you're unable to place a trade, it may be due to:

  • Insufficient free margin

  • Trading outside market hours

  • Incorrect trade size

  • Disabled account status

  • Temporary connectivity issues

Start by reviewing the error message displayed in the platform, along with your available margin and account status.

“No Money” Error

This error appears when your available margin is too low to open a new trade. To resolve it:

  • Reduce your trade size

  • Deposit additional funds

  • Close other open trades to free up margin

  • Transfer funds from your other trading accounts using the internal transfer function.

Trading Hours

Trading hours vary depending on the instrument. Generally, forex markets are open 24/5 from Monday to Friday, while indices, commodities, and cryptocurrencies may have specific trading windows.

You can view the exact trading hours directly in MT4/MT5 > Market Watch > Right-click an instrument > Specifications.

Rollover Period

The rollover period (also known as swap time) typically occurs around 00:00 server time. During this time:

  • Spreads may widen as market liquidity changes around rollover

  • Swap fees are applied for positions held overnight

  • On Wednesdays (Forex & Metals) and Fridays (Some Indices), swaps may be tripled to account for weekend rollover

Investor vs. Master Password

  • Master Password: Full access to trade, modify, and manage the account.

  • Investor Password: Read-only access; you can monitor trades but cannot place or modify orders.

Make sure you're logging in with the correct credentials based on what you intend to do.

“Off Quotes” Error in MT4/MT5

This error means there is no price available from the server at the time you attempted your trade. It usually happens due to:

  • Market volatility or low liquidity

  • Expired price feeds

  • Internet connectivity issues

Try refreshing your platform or re-attempting the order after a few seconds.
